Mr. Parker has served as President of Parker Global Strategies since 2007. He has guides the Firm’s strategic direction and manages the day-to-day business operations of the Firm. Mr. Parker chairs the Executive Committee and is an ex-officio member of the Investment Committee.
Prior to joining PGS, Mr. Parker held a number of senior management positions at Willis Re Inc. over a 17 year tenure. In 1993, he established Willis Re’s Stamford office and built a highly successful operation. His team specialized in and controlled all credit related reinsurance products handled in the United States, including all Political Risk and Trade Credit Insurances, Mortgage and related products, Surety and Financial Guarantee insurance lines. He and his team were nationally recognized as a market leader in providing reinsurance solutions for the leading insurance companies involved in the US surety market. In 2002, he became an Executive Vice President, and in 2005 he became the Northeast Regional Production Manager, and finally, he became the National Production Director in 2006. In his role as National Production Director, Mr. Parker was responsible for all production efforts in the United States with oversight and strategic control over 100 production-oriented brokers.
From 1986 to 1990, Mr. Parker was employed at Wilcox Inc. as a reinsurance broker where he specialized in insurance products related to the construction industry as well as a variety of financial reinsurance products that were developed to support the capital needs of insurance companies. From 1984 to 1986, Mr. Parker was a Relationship Manager in the Corporate Finance Department at Bankers Trust Company in New York. He began his career at Johnson & Higgins in 1979 where he ultimately concentrated in the insurance needs of financial institutions.
Mr. Parker has been active with area non-profit organizations for many years. He has been a long time board member and twice Chairman of the Board at Laurel House Inc. in Stamford, an organization that supports people suffering from mental illness. He also serves on the Executive Council at AmeriCares and is a member of the Board of Visitors of the Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University.
Mr. Parker earned his B.A. with honors in US History at Middlebury College. He is a 2012 graduate of Harvard Business School’s OPM program.
